Stage 1 Junior Tour of Ireland

We're in Ennis in County Clare for the Junior Tour of Ireland with a team from Edinburgh Road Club. 



This race is of a really high standard with many past winners going on to top Pro careers. There's riders from Ireland, the USA, UK and the continent. 


Today was an easy start with a prologue time trial in the evening. The day before had been spent travelling and had been pretty tiring but everyone seemed in better spirits today. We did a recce of the course, a 6km slightly uphill one, a strong rider's one! Unfortunately, the heavens opened when we were out!


Dinner was an early one as the race started at 7pm with our 1st man Joe off at 7:48pm, then Calum, Stuart and Lewis. We only had one slight mishap with Stuart's chain coming adrift but all the lads were reasonably satisfied with their times.
