Water Lily
We had been looking at the weather forecast for a warm sunny day, to visit the gardens of Burnby Hall, near Pockilington, to see the water lilies.
They have the National Collection of over 100 varieties.
Well today was the day, although there were quite a few clouds about, it was mainly sunny and by early afternoon the lilies were wide open.
A photographers paradise.
In fact one gentleman asked if he could take our photo as we sat looking out over the lake, from a summer house.
Well we said yes, and then told him all about Blipfoto. He was very interested and said he would have a look at the website when he got home.
I do love these gardens. see more from their website HERE and see map.
They are so peaceful. calming and relaxing.
There is also a woodland area, an aviary, a museum, and the lake is full of huge carp, which provide amusement for both young and old alike. ( you can purchase fish food from the shop)
It also has a lovely cafe, with delicious food at very reasonable prices.
We had mushroom soup, a slice of pizza, and raspberry scone for a total of £10-50.for two of us.
So many photos, but I decided that this one of a water lily called " Sioux" would be my blip with a collage as an extra.
