Capturing my Journey

Back to work

I loved how cute Breagh and Pip looked in this picture, it was so clear we could see the Isle of Iona from here as well as Tiree. The two islands in this are Gometra on the right and Ulva on the left.

Early start and up the road to go gathering for another farmer. A good gather with the dogs working well. Hard work at times in the bracken when its taller than me. The dogs struggle with it too, its very disorientating and hard work to break new paths through it. After gathering we handled the sheep, separating off all the ewes to be clipped from their lambs and giving the second vaccination to the lambs and a pour on for ticks etc. I did have the gopro out so when I find some time I will put together a wee video of working in a more modern handling system with sheep. Much hilarity and banter which is essential when working a long day with the sheep. We helped get them all done and transported to the shed and then were relieved of duty since we were surplus to requirements by this stage and we had so far to travel home.

Dogs walked and fed blip done now time for supper wash and bed!! We were on the go for 14.5 hours!

16c sunshine with cloud in the afternoon

Extra is of the sheep on the second half of the gather just heading into the fank. I liked the circling effect they were creating when the were swirling about.
