Today's back blip is the screen on my new toy, a Garmin Edge 1000 bike satnav, being recharged. I could use a smart phone for what this does, but the Garmin is weather sealed unlike most smart phones, has longer battery life in use than most smart phones, better GPS reception and comes with built-in west European maps (though they are actually all freely available on Open Street Map).

It's also a hint as to what yesterdays mysterious mono was...
