Birthday Twins!

Tonight a group of us helped our good friends Colin and Clare celebrate their joint birthdays. How funny for a married couple to have a birthday on the same day!

Col turned 50 and his presents included a pork pie with his name engraved in pastry, beer with his name on and a 'golden bullet' - disarmed of course.

Clare was presented with a beautiful landscape painting of what looked like the English countryside but in fact was a scene from Ukraine.

My gift to her was a quirky recipe book called 'Scone with the Wind: Bakes with a literary twist'. Watership Upside Down Pineapple Cake or Breakfast at Tiffins anyone?
