In the Garden

I took the train up north today, it's my mum's birthday on Sunday, so I went up to stay at her house for a long weekend. Mum lives outside of Aberdeen, pretty much in the country (the nearest shops are about a mile away). This of course has advantages and disadvantages, it's lovely peaceful and quiet, on the other hand it IS very peaceful and quiet!

There isn't much to do, there isn't anywhere particularly nice to go for a walk in the country (mostly uninteresting farm land nearby), but since I was brought up in a small town I do like the peace and quiet that is difficult to get in Edinburgh and mum does have a nice back garden that I can enjoy when the weather is good (unlike my flat in Edinburgh).

The weather was mostly fine and sunny, but we did get the odd shower of rain, if you look carefully you might just make out a faint rainbow in the above picture.
