Floral perspective
Life on the marina is fascinating year round, but just now it’s especially attractive.
The flower planters on the guard railings and in borders to the residential areas make all the difference, and provide a perfect framing for today’s Blipfoto of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club.
I needed to make a visit to the Club to begin initial preparations for the next edition of the Club’s member magazine, the Yachter, but as always couldn’t resist a walk around the marina footpaths to catch a glimpse of the day’s activity on the water and in the marina.
But the prime reward of the day for me was this view of the Ocean Village Clubhouse framed through the vivid colours of the floral displays. They are all round the marina’s edge and in practically whichever direction you look you will find a similar view.
From inside the Clubhouse I can usually never get enough satisfaction of the view looking out to the marina. Certainly enough to distract me from the job in hand today of planning for the magazine.
But then when I did break off and took my amble around the marina, I discovered an entirely fresh perspective, all thanks to the abundant floral plantings.
