Riversway

After a meeting, I walked around Preston Dock, known as Riversway since it was redeveloped in the 1980s and 90s. With little wind there were some pleasant reflections at the marina.

I was pleased to see that Common Terns are making use of nesting boxes, placed on pontoons, as a helpful sign explained.

Two lessons today:

1. When you set off for a two mile walk around a large expanse of water on a cloudy July day, expect the rain to fall after exactly a mile.

2. Do not attempt to drive on the Motorways of North-West England on a Friday afternoon in July.
