What a 'bloody' hero

What a day this girl had.

She whacked a load of runs in the first innings then went in as wicket keeper (without a helmet!) She got a ball in the face at a million miles per hour which gave her a huge split lip which required a load of stitches (put in at the side of the pitch) After all this drama, she then came back on to play in the final of the tournament which her team won.

As she lifted the trophy, mouth taped up with bandages, she understandably got a huge cheer from the other teams and the spectators.

Incidentally, the umpires in the background of the pic are mopping up her blood. :/

All in the name of women's cricket.
