But, then again . . . . .

Repugnant.

This week’s Wednesday run started in Peebles with most of our members driving there, not something that I generally like; however, with just over 15 miles to the start (and again back home afterwards) and just over 50 miles for the run, a total of 85 miles was nearly satisfactory and I could always take a detour on the way home.

I’ve been having trouble with the indigestion system recently but the doctor has prescribed what she thought was some suitable medication; listed on the packaging  are the possible side effects including all the symptoms from which I suffer. It hasn’t helped so far so, today, I tried a different dosage regime with spectacular results; I was hit by the usual problems plus stomach cramps and some other rather offensive occurrences. Consequently, it was the short way home from Peebles.

We had a new member out – and he was riding a trike, just a different sort. This “lie back and think of the motherland” model (known in the fraternity as a “repugnant”) is very low slung with a curious steering mechanism – hence the jaunty angle of the front wheel – and is hand cranked. The various features of the machine means that it is a wee bit sluggish on the up hills but, on the descents, goes like a sky-diver on speed. We had been advised not to wait for him at the top of Witchy Knowe, but it had started to rain heavily so I needed to put on waterproofs and wanted a Blip.
