Sand between the toes

A great feeling. 

We've spent a lovely day on Holywell Beach under a hazy sun which hid behind the clouds but at least it was warm.  Cornish Pasties and cardboard cups of tea from the beach van are an annual treat and tasted just as good as ever.  Snoozing, people-watching, paddling and a brisk walk up and back along the tide line ended in soggy shorts and a real feel good factor - I love the seaside and it's wonderful to see young and old and dogs too all having a really good time.

My friend's last night here and we took her out to the Smugglers Den Inn for a very good last supper.   She'll be heading back home tomorrow and we'll miss her.
