Bird's Eye View

Here we are standing up on the footpath that runs along the cliffs. The wharf is visible on the left. We spotted this somewhat disheveled hawk in a tree that doesn't usually contain any large birds.  I don't know birds enough to decide if the hawk was just ratty looking, if it was ill, a juvenile, or an adult having a bad hair day. There is a tiny, somewhat upset, black bird on the tip of the branch between the two surfers; it was very vocal about the hawk and dive bombed it from a safe distance. It was great being so close, and incredibly frustrating to be there without any zooming devices, just my iPhone.
