Military coup in Turkey

I was shocked to hear late last night about the attempted coup in Turkey. Information from friends in Turkey and the media was highly confused. The dramatic division in Turkish society has boiled over but It looks like it's failed and already there are hints of violent retribution. It does not bode well.
