Lake Patzcuaro

It seems the only way to ride my mountain bike in this area is to ride up. Fortunately that gives me some great views of Lake Patzcuaro and Janitzio, the island underneath the puffy white clouds, and a chance to catch my breath (it is not easy starting my ride at 2,200 m and then going straight up the neighboring hillside). These beautiful white clouds turn into thundering lightning storms almost every afternoon this time of year. I think the weather is spectacular, but my wife gets a little freaked out by the insanely loud thunder. The rains really make a muddy mess of the trails as well, even the sunshine does not make much difference.
