Domino Effect

The biennial Milton Keynes Festival started yesterday. Lots of different shows including music, comedy, circus, cabaret and family events. One of the events was 'Dominoes', a two kilometre falling line of blocks that started at the top of the iconic 'Point' and snaked its way through the shopping centre and a housing estate before continuing through the venue that houses the indoor ski slope and ending up outside the MK Theatre. Everyone loves to see a line of dominoes knocked over so it was popular, meaning far too many people around to get a decent shot. But as a record of the event these are the blocks close to the start as they came past me.

The blocks themselves were made from plaster and the stewards were very happy for people to take one away as a souvenir, and I saw a lot of children doing just that. I wonder how long it will be before they realise that there isn't a lot of beauty in a plaster block that gets in the way at the back of your bedroom?
