Job done!
Today's plan was to lay some weed resistant membrane over the side bed and then cover it with bark chippings in an attempt to reduce the work needed to keep the bed under control.
With having the magnolia tree there, there is very little else growing, except for winter jasmine which is almost a weed. I'm hoping that the bark and membrane will together help to keep that and other weeds under some degree of control.
Anyway, job done and now it's fingers crossed - looks good just now at any rate.
Was very happy to see Homebase had bark and all their composts at half price, so it cost us a lot less than expected. We've got some left over too, for when the bees quit the compost bin and we can move it and do that area too.
