If you know your Egytian history you will recognise Anubis, the god of mummification. This  is a tourist replica of a canopic jar I picked up years ago in Luxor.

Caopic jars were used for holding your entrails, heart and lungs...if you were rich enough to afford a proper burial.
Today we have a cremation- it's quicker. And cleaner.
