History In The Garden.
The first fuchsias arrived in London from Brazil in 1788, after being discovered in the Dominican Republic by Fr Charles Plumier, a French Catholic priest and botanist. He named it after Leonhart Fuchs, a German doctor and herbalist. Today there are about 8,000 species..
As I am expecting my daughter to arrive soon, I am posting early .This is from our garden. Last year I posted a pale pink variety also from the garden.
