Lilies

Earlier in the week I visited our local gravel pits to see if the lilies were blooming yet and found they were. The light then was very poor and did not show the lilies off at their best. 
On the way back from a top up shop today I thought I’d visit the lilies again as the light was much better. There are three lakes formed from the gravel extraction and the middle one has a small backwater that is joined to the main lake by a narrow opening. Here in the backwater is where the lilies grow and bloom. I had a real dilemma about which lily to post so I’ve put a second image as an extra and I still am unsure whether I posted them the right way round.

They do look better viewed large.
