Golden Couple

Here are Alan & Dorothy, Tess's "Uncle & Aunt" (although Alan is officially Tess's Mum's cousin), cutting their Golden Wedding anniversary cake, complete with the bride and groom that topped their wedding cake 60 years ago.

Over 100 family and friends joined them for a celebratory meal this afternoon and a joyous occasion it was too. They are always great fun to be around and we we were able to catch up with their four children and numerous grand and great-grand children who we haven't seen for a while (or before, in the case of some of the younger ones)

We had a walk after breakfast this morning in Hornchurch Country Park which is deservedly popular with joggers, cyclists and walkers, with and without dogs, and after an afternoon really too hot for being in a suit, we're now chill gin our hotel room and preparing to watch the golf highlights.
