Sightseeing
We have moved on from cool and rainy Pátzcuaro to warmer and rainier Morelia for an overnight stay before returning to Zihuatanejo tomorrow. Big city Morelia is a drastic change from the smallish town in which we live. There is history on every corner and culture at every turn. Shopping is a big draw for us, U.S. chains (Costco, The Home Depot, etc.) suck us in for purchases we simply cannot make anywhere else. One constant however is the weather. We took a lovely walk around the historic district, seeing firsthand many of the sights these trolley tourists are likely to see, when this massive storm quickly changed everything, clearing the streets and parks that moments ago we full of people enjoying an afternoon outside. It kept going like this well into the night, ruining what was to be an outside gathering of people at this very spot to watch a broadcast of the Morelia Symphony Orchestra performing at the Teatra Ocampo two blocks over.
