Fishing buddies

We went fishing in the creek today and the killdeers entertained us the whole time. Faking injury to protect the young or nest is one of their specialties! They ran up and down the beach screaming like they were being tortured. We caught enough perch for dinner and a mess to share with the folks then headed home and let the birds have their beach to themselves again.
