Symbol of Laos

Great first day in Vientiane. Lots to see and do including plenty of stupas, monks and Buddha statues. All this despite the fact that our guide told us religion is not important in Laos!

As capital cities go, Vientiane is pretty laid back, although having seen the state of the driving here today it's not hard to understand why Laos has one of the highest number of motorcycle - related deaths in the world.

Much hotter here than in Cambodia... Phew! Phew!
