Digging up the street, Yunnan style. Just a guy with a wheelbarrow, another guy and this woman down in the ditch. And it's a long street!

We were up at 4am this morning for an early flight to Lijiang, a couple of hours flying south over the mountains and away from the heat. We'll be touring Yunnan province for the next ten days, with Sally and her daughter Alice providing the translation, culinary advice and general tour organisation. But they're from Nanjing and haven't been here before so it's an adventure for them too. Today was just taken up with breakfast (noodles), walking the Old City and dinner (black goat hot pot). And a long bath to soothe our tired bodies. This touristy stuff is hard work!
