Life's Journey

London flags

Spoiled for choice today for blips, taking my son and nephews up to London , along with 2 of my bestest chums for a day out. We weren't sure what to expect, being mid Olympics, but it was idyllic. Busy but not manic and lots of extra fun stuff going on and a really happy atmosphere.

We took a walk up Whitehall, listening to the cheers of the crowd at the beach volleyball off Horseguards, admiring the Olympic flags flying. To the bemusement of JOhn and David, we were trying to follow the Hatwalk, a piece of art where milliners had put special hats on some of the statues. There were 3 in Trafalgar Square, in addition to Nelson's one. Fun idea.

Anyone, top blip has to go to Tower Bridge, still resplendent with its Olympic rings. I have always loved this landmark, though as a child, if we were stuck in traffic on it, I used to worry it would open and tip us in the river.
Anyway, we strolled down towards Butler's Wharf and these chalk flags of the Olympic family caught me eye.
