Small Tortoiseshell amongst the lavender

What a glorious day weather-wise  - not that I've seen much of it, as I was stuck behind a computer all day. I didn't even go out at lunchtime, as I knew that (a) I would get very hot and sticky and would then be uncomfortable all afternoon and (b) that I wouldn't want to go back into the office if I went out.
We went for a short walk this evening along the river bank behind us, and Hector had a lovely time paddling and fetching stones out of the water. Ziggy refuses to go into the water. I took this in the front garden on our way out, as the butterfly looked so pretty amongst the lavender.
