Goodbye to the garden

Hooray! Finally, the long-awaited discharge from hospital. The surgeon gave HH the good news while I was at breakfast, so we quickly packed our bags, said goodbye to the drips and the hospital robe and took a taxi back home.

It felt really good to be back, and as the fridge is bare and HH has no restrictions on his diet, beyond drinking lots of (preferably non-fizzy) liquids and chewing his food well, we went down the road for a light lunch at a ‘by kilo’ restaurant. Then along to the bank to collect a money order that had to be delivered to him in person – quite a relief to get it, funds were running low.

There wasn’t much left of the afternoon by this time and we spent the rest of it sorting out urgent matters that had been on hold. HH is now in bed and asleep and I’m about to join him. Not the early night I hoped for, as I’ve taken ages to pay some taxes for one of his clients.
