Haalgeist und Salzsieder

This blip shows the keeper of the historic Schwäbisch Hall salt spring and a salter. This keeper is said to be a good ghost and spirit of the spring unless it is teased. Further it is said to warn the salters of coming floodings with its cry. However in the last hundred or so years nobody has heard ( or maybe listened to) his warnings.
The salting which had made the town of Schwäbisch Hall rich was given up in the 19th century when salt production changed to mining the salt. The nearest salt mine is near Heilbronn.
