Positive environmental management.

For the last four - maybe five - years our local council has sown wildflower seeds on traffic islands and roadside verges to flower in the summer months. (I have mentioned this before.) I really love this way of attracting back to the environment some of the myriad insect species that had their habitats destroyed in earlier decades by aggressive stripping of hedgerows.  Humanity is evolving, it seems.  (See also the Extra.)
