13th Birthday
Last evening we received a call from son to say that our eldest grandchild was in trouble (again). She had broken up from school and as both parents were working it was felt she was old enough to stay home alone. She was not! She had friends in who 'took over' the house and bar. She was clearly out of her depth due to their numbers, but when Mum came home and discovered what had gone on, Megan gave cheek instead of contrition!
Both parents are struggling, with new jobs, finances and controlling Megan. Both floundering and this morning I got a text asking if we could take her today to stay. Mr L picked her up and although we were supposed to be supporting their punishments, on her 13th birthday it was too hard as grandparents not to do something. So, we went out for pizza and I bought a mini birthday cake.
Who could believe from the picture this gorgeous girl is causing so much heart ache!
