Apples

This recent spell of warm weather, seems to have done a great deal of good to the fruit on our apple trees.  Today’s picture is of some of the eating apples on one of the apple trees in our garden.  The apples on this tree are fairly small, very sweet and ripen very early, before those on any of the other trees, including our Discovery.  Some of these apples look as though they are almost ready to be picked, some one month earlier than usual.  We have an equal density of apples on most of our other apple trees, except for our Discovery, which this year has only produced about a dozen in total.  I am looking forward to eating some of these in a few weeks time.
