Santa Land and the Cabin
Today was our opening ceremony for Roverway 2012. For the people in the North of Finland our opening ceremony was held in Santa Land. Whilst we were there we had a look around at ice scluptures, went on a train ride, made a santa head, went to elf school and met Santa. It was a great start to the camp and I had a good time. Once we had been welcomed we collected our bags and headed for the coaches where we went off in different directions to reach our walking destination.
When we arrived at the cabin we had a walk around and had a look at the lake. We were given lunch on the first day and then we learnt a card game with the Belgian people. We all went outside once we had eaten had introduced ourselves to all the different people there. On our path there were people from Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain and of course us from England and the leaders from Finland. We played bulldog once we had all introduced ourselves, it was good fun despite me getting caught out straight away.
In the evening we made ourselves dinner on the cooking equipment we had brought with us, had a Sauna and then went to sleep in the cabin only to be woken at 6.30 the next day to start our walk.
