Trumpet vine

This looks pretty enough against the sky, but it can become a weedy pest if left to its own devices. This is growing on the fence and is rooted in the neighbor's field. In past years I have tackled it with lots of Roundup and it almost looked to have died on the fence, but it is back again. Another trumpet vine is busily climbing up a hackberry in another part of the yard.  I think these plants are actually sold in plant catalogs, but it seems to me to be a bit irresponsible to actually plant them!
