RHS Tatton Flower Show

We took a day off today to go to the RHS Tatton Flower Show - we had never been.

It was fabulous. We were lucky with the weather (thunderstorm and heavy rain first thing but by the time we got there sunny and very warm). And there was so much to see - I took loads of photos (but snapping rather than taking my time).

The blip is a chap on stilts. His costume has taken 8 months to make.

And some extras:

* The show Gardens were fabulous - but I really liked the school gardens. They were all themed on musicals, with all the plants grown from seed by the kids (we talked to some very proud girls and boys). The blip extra is Aladdin, I liked the magic carpet. Mamma Mia was about guessing 7 songs - Waterloo was good !
* Tatton features on BBC2 tomorrow and Friday. We watched Carol Klein being filmed - she kept having to stop and start again because of planes flying off from Manchester Airport
* Full marks for Salford's Bridgewater Shed - here's the team. I really liked all the themed sheds
* And lots of amazing floral displays. The Olympics are celebrated by groupings of Mandevillas, a plant discovered in the area around Rio de Janeiro a long time ago
