Hanging Tree

I saw a ghost once. My Gran told me about the Hanging Tree and how it was where they used to hang criminals. I didn't believe her but, when I walked past it one evening, there was a dead man hanging from it. He was wearing old-fashioned clothes and was very, very dead.

Later, I found out that my Gran had made it all up. The Hanging Tree got its name from the way that traders used it to display their wares.
