Elytra Filament Pavilion

After such a busy day yesterday we had a more relaxed day in London before heading home. It was too hot to do anything that required us to move quickly.

After visiting the Tate Modern and taking in the views from the 10th floor of the new switch house we made our way to the V&A museum. In the garden this installation proved just the place for the young mums to relax. This newly-commissioned Garden installation by architects and engineers at the University of Stuttgart is inspired by the forewing shells of flying beetles known as elytra and constructed using a novel robotic production process.

We arrived home, feeling very weary, just before 10.30 pm hence this back blip.
