Day 203 If it Doesn't Fit, Make it
The lock and handle on the back door finally died last night. Last night I rang a builder friend and pleaded for help. I slept in the kitchen so that any burglars, after my cameras, would have to climb over me.
This morning my saviour came round, replaced the lock and explained the problem with the handle. Essentially the door was so old that standards had changed and bits could not be found to repair it. The problem was that spindles are now much thicker than they used to be. The photo is of the builder making a new spindle thinner - my hero.
Result? The back door is secure again and I have a photo of the day.
