Summer flowers

A couple of years ago we got rid of all the mossy, sodden grass in the back garden, made raised veg beds and put chippings down between them.  This diamond shaped central bed is full of flowers, mostly annuals, and it is just starting to come into its own.

It is a brilliant summer - the garden is looking great, really pleased with the veg, already picking courgettes and strawberries, lettuce and salad greens, and plenty more coming on.

Mike staying overnight on Peridot, so he can move the mooring at high tide.  Sad to say I did not stand on the slip, wrapped in my shawl, and keen for him as he sailed away . . . !   He looked so happy.  We seem to be living a Swallows and Amazons sort of life just now . . . The best summer ever?
