Morning delight
After a little rain last night it was another gloriously warm morning for walking.
We started decadently late (8.00am) and climbed up from the village onto Harden Moor and, passing the stone circle we crossed over it to Catstones Moor above Cullingworth.
You can see Cullingworth here in the distance with four of our 7 lady walkers. (We had a guest this morning amongst the regulars, Rose54's daughter who has broken up for the summer and is visiting from London)
There is quite a bit of Ling in flower now on the moor which you can see in the foreground amongst the heather which is just coming into flower and of course bracken which is pretty full on in places now.
We will soon be out walking 'among the bloomin' heather'.
An excellent extended (4.6m) early walk with just one down point when, almost back in the village, Corinthian Column slipped on a slippery rock and ended up in a stream! Fortunately she was only yards from her daughter's back garden so she scrabbled over the wall to get some dry clothes to protect her dignity on the way home. I resisted the call to make this my blip! There are some cruel people around.
Hope you haven't too many bruises C.
Happy weekend everyone.
