For Flower Friday. I watched the end of the Tour de France stage today and it was actually quite exciting. And won by a Frenchman! I found it quite adorable that all the men on his team were crying and hugging each other at the finish line. And then the Minister for Sport arrived and cried and hugged them too. I find it hard to imagine a British government minister doing that.

As for other news, please can we have a rest? The events in Munich are horrific, but so are the images from the Republican Convention: they could be photos of a Fascist rally in the 1930s. And Boris Johnson sitting on the UN Security Council. World going to hell in a handcart.
