WHAT IS IT?

Can anyone tell me what this plant is please? It has been a joy to watch it flower but I have no idea what it is. It is in a pot and quite fragile, about 18 inches tall at the moment. I am wondering if it would be better planted against the fence.

I am not green-fingered at all.

Not much progress with Stepson S: the hospital don't think they can attempt a further blood patch for a month, so it could be he will be sent home. The pain management team and consultant are seeing him next week.
