HAPPY WEDDING DAY!
A bit like buses, you don’t see one for ages, then two come along at once! Such was today - having been asked to be the official photographer at Amanda (our grandson Harry's Mum) and Sean's wedding, we received another invitation to a wedding in Pontypridd on the same day!
The wedding in Wales was at 12 noon, and the other one was at 4 p.m. in Swindon, and even with a following wind, we wouldn’t have made it back to Swindon. So we had to send our regrets to Jonathan and Louise, but hope that they have had a wonderful day.
It was blisteringly hot in the Registry Office in Swindon with no air conditioning, so we were all melting, but Amanda looked beautiful, Sean looked handsome - they made a lovely couple - and it was a very moving ceremony.
Now we have a couple of hours to relax before we go back for the evening reception and hopefully, it will be much cooler.
I found this quote entitled “Marriage Boxes” and pray that Amanda and Sean and Jonathan and Louise will always find theirs are full to the brim!
Most people get married believing a myth
that marriage is beautiful box
full of all the things they have longed for;
companionship, intimacy, friendship etc.
The truth is, that marriage, at the start, is an empty box,
you must put something in before you can take anything out.
There is no love in marriage,
love is in people,
and people put love in marriage.
There is no romance in marriage,
you have to infuse it into your marriage.
A couple must learn the art,
and form the habit of giving, loving, serving, praising,
of keeping the box full.
If you take out more than you put in,
the box will be empty.
