Dungeness Lifeboat
Day out today in Rye Harbour and the Lifeboat Station was open to visitors. The Dungeness Lifeboat paid a visit. The smaller Rye lifeboat is in the extra.
We walked along the estuary to Winchelsea Beach accompanied by numerous yachts benefitting from the high tide to go out to sea, only to be greeted by the fog horn warning. Having left the harbour in 27C and a bright blue sky the sea and beach were shrouded in fog, or sea mist as its usually called. We curtailed our sea walk and turned inland to stroll through the RSPB nature reserve and looked at the geese and birds on the lakes.
May the good weather continue. I am enjoying our British summer
