Thistle Down

By Ethel

Hands

Knoweth thou not...left hand,
What the right hand doeth?
Thou who should be brothers,
In what my life pursueth.

Right hand is so blessed,
His touch has every skill.
For he useth all his powers,
With a determined will.

And you...are naught left hand,
Your energy is barely half.
And at your task to make beautiful,
I stand and laugh.

Even if you would of had your pick,
And you were chosen first.
But as thou art...portioned by God,
Thou art the worst.

Partners...thou should be,
And not equal is a fact.
Even when the right hand bleeds,
Left hand...you fail to act.
