Lunchtime view

This this is were I stopped yesterday on my dive and had lunch :-) the view beats the works canteen.
It's a series of coral reefs that make up Tiran island in the middle of the Red sea.
The day started with me being picked up by one of the mental taxi drivers they have in Sharm, they have no concept of speed and which side of the road their supposed to drive on. We headed into the desert which surprised me as I thought I was meeting the dive boat in Sharks bay, it was 8 in the morning and temperature already 38 degrees and getting warmer, I started to feel nervous when we reached an armed checkpoint in the middle of no where, the guy manning it seemed far to attached to his Remington for my liking but after showing my papers and dive equipment he laughed at the sweating foreigner in the mental taxi, he spoke some English so I asked him where the hell I was going, he said secret cove.
Since the fall of the government here, it's opened the doors to all sorts of nasty entrepreneurship, after another few miles the taxi stopped and we carried my gear about a km across the desert to a small cove where the dive boat is waiting. It turned out that the captain didn't want to pay the special dock charge for taking out divers. So a bit of an adventure in the morning but it would have been nice to know I wasn't being sold into the slave trade :-)
The days diving was excellent, I was teamed up with a novice called Roger that was air greedy for a dive but he didn't make it passed 6m due to him sucking his air tank dry, he enjoyed his quick up and down though.
I have pictures of the dive and snorkelling around the islands I'll put them of Flickr when I get home.
Today is a pool day and a catch up with the girls :-)
