Temple Mills

A Grade 1 listed Victorian former flax mill in Holbeck, Leeds, that made history in 1840 as having “the largest room in the world” (two acres).
This is the office building modelled on the Temple of Horus at Edfu in Egypt.
In the 1950s, the building became the northern office of Kay’s - the catalogue company - and remained so until the company folded in 2004.  It remained empty until 2010 when it became a cultural venue for the performing arts and continued as such until earlier this year.  It is now closed again and, despite it being on the Victorian Society's list of the ten most threatened buildings in England and Wales, its structure is now seriously at risk following many years of neglect.
It needs a lot of money spending on it - let's hope it can survive - and flourish.
