Girl Power- running a triathlon

Well, running a triathlon for a “girls weekend” may not be your idea of an annual reunion party but these two young women, friends from university days did just that.
 
This year they chose to compete in the St Mary’s Loch triathlon while the third member of their group, Emma, acted as back-up.
 
Here I declare a vested interest
 
Louise (right) is our niece and here she is with her friend Susan, at the end of the their triathlon today.
 
It began with jumping in a Scottish loch and swimming for nearly a mile with the temperature 14C. followed by a bike ride of 13 miles and a six mile run.
 
 
 
Susan came 4th in her category (veteran, over 40) and Louise, running only in her second triathlon came in with a very respectable time of 2 hours and 38 minutes.
