It's not often you can pinpoint the exact second of a life changing event.
At least not a good one.
Ten years ago today I went into work without a clue that I was going to do something later that day that would change my life forever.
It was a Monday.
I was single and living with my parents in a comfortable rut
A few days before I'd had the realisation that this was fine at 32 but I didn't want to be waking up five, ten years later with nothing changed!
And then I'd seen an advert for Match.com. The one where the couple were joined together having difficulties getting on buses, going to the gym etc.
Late on Sunday night I went onto the site and browsed through - just to see what sort of singletons were available within a ten mile radius. There were one or two who looked promising so I signed up, wrote my profile, uploaded a three year old picture and waited to see if anyone got in touch.
I had no intention of contacting anyone myself. That would be crazy.
So on that Monday morning I went to work and carried on browsing through eligible men worked as hard as I could all day.
Late in the afternoon, on a whim, I changed my preferences from "never married" to "any".
Mr K's profile appeared.
I read it through once and without even stopping to think pressed the "wink" button.
As I've said before I knew he'd wink back and I knew what our future held. All in a flash.

This is copied from my Blip a couple of years ago. I can't write it any better!!
Ten years since Mr K and I first learnt of each other's existence. I can't - and don't want to - imagine life without him.
A life changing click of the mouse!

When we re-arranged Fawsley Hall a few months ago this was the first weekend that worked for us and that they had availability. I was thrilled when I realised it coincided with our anniversary. Well one of them! We have three - the one where I winked, the one where we met and our wedding anniversary!!
I felt a little groggy this morning due to yesterday's overindulgence but came back to life when we headed down to breakfast. I do like a hotel breakfast and the ones at Handpicked Hotels are always fabulous. Pains au chocolat, toast, muffins, banana and coconut smoothies, orange juice, pineapple, melon, apricots, Greek yoghurt, and smoked haddock and poached eggs (me) and eggs Benedict (Mr K). Delicious!!
I had to be winched back up to our room!
We lazed around for a bit until it was time to check out. Then we went downstairs to the Tudor Hall and lazed around for a couple of hours on comfy giant sofas with the papers, the laptops, mint tea and cappuccino. When people started coming in for afternoon tea we headed out into the garden and sat by a giant cedar planted by Capability Brown - which was actually four trees planted together which have grown together as one massive trunk. As well as taking silly selfies of us winking we read more of the papers and magazines and browsed the internet a bit more. Blissful. We even squeezed in a couple of giant glasses of shandy!!
All too soon it was time for a last wander round and then to head home to Nanny and the Little Misses.
All was well at home - everyone had had a lovely time which is always good to hear. Nanny took them to the woods yesterday and to Looby Lu's and the park today.
They were happy to see us which is always nice too!
If I hadn't hit the wink button ten years ago they wouldn't exist. Unthinkable!!
