2016 Saturday -- Hungry for Pasta
I told Mr. Fun that I wanted to go out for dinner. I had prepared a lovely lunch earlier in the day and that was time consuming, but certainly deliciously. Eating a "plant-based"/vegan diet is delicious, but there are moments that I just don't have the gumption to get a meal prepared.
So we started driving south toward Morro Bay. We both were thinking that we'd go to a Mexican restaurant, LoLo's, when I mentioned that it sure would be terrific to find an Italian place. Mr. Fun mentioned the little place we had seen recently and asked me to look for it on the Internet. I did and the comments were favorable, so we headed toward Los Osos.
At Jimmy Bump's Pasta House every table, but one, was full, so we quickly sat at the only available table and then enjoyed a delicious evening meal. So I didn't have to cook and the meal was healthy and delicious. It was a win-win event.
After dinner we walked the pups near the water a few blocks away at Baywood Park. It was quite cold (I wore two hooded sweatshirts). We took a quick walk and returned to the car with me laughing that we had entered winter! A few miles inland the temperatures are very hot, so the cool of California's Central Coast is just fine with us.
This has been a lovely day -- it began with the furniture refinishing man coming to get the antique queen headboard that I purchased the other day from CraigsList. He will repair some flaws and refinish the piece. (See my Thursday post for headboard photos.)
I knew that I had purchased a rare beautiful (at least beautiful to me) item. So when the refinisher's helper questioned, "Do you mind if I ask what you paid for this?" I willing told him. At that moment I knew I also had found a bargain as well as a one-of-a-kind antique. I'll never sell it, so it doesn't really matter that it's valuable, but fun to know. And Mr.Fun just looks at me and grins. He couldn't believe that we were going to Paseo Robles for a headboard. He also couldn't believe that I had found a furniture refinisher that was coming here from Tulare! This headboard story has a half-dozen mini-chapters.
