Simple Joys

This bright dahlia greeted me in the garden this morning. While kneeling and admiring this flower, a hummingbird zipped through the garden and then hovered above me, his red throat patch flashing in the sun. 

Tucked in between two stacked chairs on the porch, I spied a small Pacific Tree Frog. Then, a few minutes later, out the front window I saw a small brown bunny munching on some grass stems. I haven't seen any in the garden...yet. 

No deer sightings today. Perhaps they came very early as its been hotter than usual today. We may see them yet as dusk approaches.
